Below are our booking policies, as well as questions you think you might want to ask.

How do I get to the island? If traveling from Providence, Boston or New York, you can take a luxury express bus which brings you right to the ferry, with high-speed internet and full comfort the entire way. This starts at $65 (round trip, all inclusive). Alternatively, you can drive to the ferry terminal and park there or even drive your car onto the boat with advance reservations. Your email confirmation will bring you to a page with details on the best bargains and exactly how and where to book your tickets.

Do I need a car on the island? Absolutely not. Not when you are staying with us. We are only a few blocks to THE main transportation hub on the island as well as within an easy walk to the year-round ferry, grocery stores, a local farmers market, the local post office, coffee shops, the West Chop lighthouse, Owen Park and State Beach, sailing, kayaking, the Historic District, two theatres, restaurants, ballroom dancing, art galleries with frequent showings, a heated pool, bike trails, and more. Our island’s buses are luxury (seriously – we’re talking thick cozy seats, bike racks, seat belts, environmentally friendly, quiet) and run as often as every 10 minutes to Edgartown or 20 minutes to Oak Bluffs. Those are the buses only a few blocks away.

What time is…

check in?This varies depending on the particular vacation, but is usually after 2 and before 7.

check out? This ranges depending on the vacation, but is typically at 10 or before so the home can be cleaned for the next guests. Please do not plan on having a place to store your bags after that time, although we can sometimes offer bag storage to you.

breakfast? We serve breakfast between 8:00 and 9:30, although we will begin serving 30 minutes early on advance request.

Minimum Stay At this time, most vacations are planned for 3-4 nights, and we do not have any available that are shorter.

Cancellation Policy Once you have secured your spot, you may transfer it to another person. Should you cancel without another person to use your space, we will refund you less a $35 administrative fee only if your space is rebooked. (We do often have waiting lists, so that is not a problem on the rare occasion that an emergency comes up.)

Amount Due at Booking This varies (check the page for your particular vacation), but we almost always have some sort of payment plan as an option.

Any Extra Fees? The amount due includes everything, including state and local taxes, breakfast, afternoon tea, cable and HBO, wireless internet, the use of our bicycles (when available), ferry pickup (when possible), linens and towels.

Who will share the room with me? For all group vacations, you are matched with another person of the same sex. If you would like to request that another person share your room (and you are both in agreement!), we can certainly honor your request. Should you decide to have your room to yourself, you may do so for a higher rate.

Payment Types Accepted For online bookings, payments are accepted via Mastercard, Visa, Discover or PayPal. If you desire to pay by check or would prefer to book over the phone, you can call (800) 264-8941 with a credit card number to guarantee the room until your check clears. The card will not be charged unless your check does not clear.

Is there any small print? Exact rooms or location cannot be guaranteed, although requests can be made and will be honored whenever possible. When you arrive for any special event, you will be required to sign a “hold harmless” waiver (a “my lawyer made me do it” sort of thing). The agreement basically says that you are responsible for your own actions and health and that all activities and food are enjoyed at your own risk. You will also be asked to sign a non-disclosure agreement that you will not be sharing the details of our business with others. The benefit to you ~ is that we will be sharing quite detailed information re: the business as it makes sense in classes.
